The City of Irvine has an Automated Inspection Request Phone System. This system allows customers to call in their inspection requests 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Inspections received before 4:00 pm will be scheduled for the following work day.

Accessing the Inspection Request System
When customers call, the Inspection Request Phone System will request their permit number. The computer reads and verifies the permit type and offers a list of inspections as they relate to their type of permit. For example, a plumbing permit number will prompt the system to offer a plumbing inspection menu, and a residential permit number will trigger a residential inspection menu. During normal City business hours, customers can press "0" at any time for immediate assistance.

Scheduling Inspections and Obtaining Status
Through the system, customers can change the date of an inspection, cancel a requested inspection, and obtain the status of previous inspections. The system will also allow the customer to confirm that their inspection request has been received.

Inspections must be requested one working day in advance.
