City Clerk's Office

The Irvine City Clerk's Department serves as a partner in democracy and is committed to quality customer service, innovation, easy access to public records, comprehensive use of resources, and records management by:

Working together to ensure the City Council, City Manager and City staff serve the community with openness and integrity.

Providing professional and courteous customer service.

Ensuring the legislative process including City elections, City Council and commission meetings are open and public.

Providing access to complete and accurate public information.

Reporting and preserving the history of the City in a fair and impartial manner.

Promoting voter registration and participation through non-partisan public outreach.

The City Council Agenda is available by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the regularly scheduled meeting. The Irvine City Council meets every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m., at Irvine City Hall, City Council Chamber, One Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, unless otherwise noted. Minutes of each City Council meeting are approved by the City Council at their next regularly scheduled meeting and will be posted at that time. Click here to view minutes.

Municipal & Zoning Codes

The Irvine City Municipal and Zoning Codes are the codified version of all ordinances adopted by the Irvine City Council and/or the voters of City of Irvine. It is the legal code of the City.

Claim Against the City may be made by completing the Claim Form and returning an original signed copy to the City Clerk's Department. Claims take 4-6 weeks to process.

Voter Registration

The City Clerk's Department will be happy to mail any Irvine, California resident a Voter Registration Form, contact us at (949) 724-6205. Voter Registration forms are also available at City Hall and numerous City facilities. First time voters must register to vote, and if you have moved, you must re-register by completing a new form. You must be registered at least 15 days prior to the election in which you intend to vote. If you do not live in Orange County, please contact the County Registrar of Voters in the county that you reside. Connecting the City and Citizens through Public Information


The Office of Records and Information is responsible for the care and custody of all official records and documents for the City. Our goal is to maintain and provide prompt access to all legal and historical records. This division of the City Clerk's Department provides for the efficient, economical and effective controls over the creation, maintenance, disposition and retention of all City records. Other responsibilities of this division include: Mail Center, Forms Management and Citywide Reception.

Request For Appeal

Is to be used when appealing a decision of the Director of Community Development, the Zoning Administrator or the Planning Commission. A request to appeal a decision of the Director of Community Development and/or the Zoning Administrator shall be appealed to the Planning Commission. An appeal based on a decision of the Planning Commission shall be appealed to the City Council. All appeals shall be filed in accordance with Irvine Zoning Code Section 2-5-1 et al and within 15 calendar days of the date of the decision. Please see back of form for complete Appeal Procedures.
